Computer games lead to addiction rarer than gambling ones
Interest to computer games rarer turns into addiction than propensity for gambling.
Such a conclusion was made by researchers from the University of Oxford based on the survey of 19 thousand citizens of North America, Great Britain and German. The survey has shown that more than a half of respondents regularly play computer games and only 3% of them consider that they do it more often than should do. 1% of respondents have been recognized as compulsive gamblers.
According to similar gambling research, problem gambling has been found in 2.6% of young people aged 18-24 years.
Recently, the American Psychiatric Association has said that computer and gambling games can cause addiction equally.
